Kate Murray, owner of The Freckled Lion book shop on Main St. in Georgetown, shares a moment with ‘Lucy Maude Montgomery’, who has been seated in her store window, reflecting on the past 100 years of Anne of Green Gables. The Freckled Lion was recently honoured as the first place national winner in the 100 Years of Anne window decorating contest. Murray decorated the window in mid-April and submitted a photo and was contacted last week, and received her $500 prize, as well as a ‘100 Years of Anne’ Limited Edition Collector’s Poster, signed by LM granddaughter Kate Macdonald Butler. The 100 Years of Anne contest also held a letter writing contest for young children. Photo by Ted Brown
