Book Signing: The Blythes Are Quoted PDF Print E-mail

December 12th, 1:30-3:30 with Benjamin Lefebvre, at the Lucy Maud Montgomery Museum located at Crawford’s Village Bakeshop.

The Blythes Are Quoted is the ninth and final book in L.M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables series, delivered to her publisher the day of Montgomery's death in April 1942. An experimental blend of prose, poetry, and dialogue, the book marks a revisitation of her best-known characters as the storms of the Second World War raged on. Divided into two sections, one set before and one after the Great War of 1914-1918, the book contains a series of contrasts: between love and dysfunction, optimism and despair, revenge and redemption, murder and justice, and life and death. Available for the first time the way Montgomery intended, the book invites readers to return to Montgomery's earlier work with a renewed appreciation and perspective.

Benjamin Lefebvre is currently a Leverhulme Visiting Fellow at the University of Worcester (UK), a Visiting Scholar at the L.M. Montgomery Institute (University of Prince Edward Island), and Director of the L.M. Montgomery Research Group.
